What is the average a headhunter charges for a placement?

Just curious – when a new person comes into a place of employment through an agency – what is the average the agency charges the employer for the new hire?

If it is a contract assignment then it depends, if the temp is getting $15 an hour, the agency is probably charging the co $20-$30 an hour. Therefore the company is profitting $5-15 dollars every hour the employee works. The assignment can last anywhere from a day to a year. There’s also temp to perm. If the co likes you then they have to buy you from the staffing agency, that’s going to be about 5-15k.

Now for executive level positions, that are permanent placement, expect 8k-30k per placement
